Steve Chronister Appointed VP of Engineering & Applied AI

At Incisive Consultants, we believe the future of healthcare technology will be shaped by organizations that combine deep Epic expertise with practical, human-centered innovation.

That’s why we’re excited to announce that Steve Chronisterhas joined Incisive as Vice President of Engineering & Applied AI.

Steve brings a unique background that sits directly at the intersection of Epic operations, engineering leadership, and applied artificial intelligence. He began his career at Epic Systems, where he led ASAP implementations for healthcare organizations including University Healthcare, Catholic Health Initiatives, and INTEGRIS Health. Since then, he has spent nearly a decade leading engineering teams responsible for delivering production-grade AI tools and customer-facing technology solutions.

In his new role, Steve will lead Incisive’s growing investment in AI-powered tools and operational technology designed to improve the way healthcare organizations, consultants, and internal teams work together.

“What drew me to Incisive is the chance to apply AI where it actually changes the day-to-day,” said Chronister. “Healthcare runs on workflows…and there’s an enormous opportunity to make that work smarter, simpler, and more human…”

The move reflects a broader strategic investment by Incisive in engineering, automation, and workflow innovation. As a firm built by former Epic leaders and consultants, Incisive sees AI as an opportunity to remove operational friction while strengthening the human expertise healthcare organizations depend on most.

“Steve is exactly the leader this moment calls for,” said Chris Blackerby, Co-Founder & CEO of Incisive Consultants. “We’ve made a substantial investment in AI because we believe the next chapter of Epic consulting won’t be led by who has the most certifications, it will be led by those who turn workflows into intelligent, automated, deeply human experiences for clients and consultants alike.”

Steve will focus on developing internal and client-facing tools that support workflow optimization, operational efficiency, and smarter decision-making in Epic-centered environments.
